It is the BMW mount that Gil Motor Sport chose for its return to competition in the Spanish Superbike Championship.

Well-known championship of Gil Motor Sport for having left it at the end of the 2019 season in place of Superbike Vice-Champion with the rider Christophe Ponsson#23.

The Spanish Superbike Championship is a Championship recognized for its high level. To give you an idea of the importance of the ESBK Championship, it is that in the Superbike World Championship currently 10 nationalities of Superbike riders are represented each race weekend compared to 12 different nationalities of Superbike riders in the Spanish Championship.

The particularity of the ESBK championship is also that it is the only championship in Europe to carry out all these events only on international circuits where the MotoGP and WorldSBK championships go, moreover the events take place over 4 days, because that rolls from Thursday morning.

It is for these reasons that we regularly find riders that we usually see in the MotoGP and WorldSBK paddocks coming to battle at ESBK.

This is the case of Gil Motor Sport rider Christophe Ponsson who will have a hard time facing direct competition that has been well established at the ESBK for several years and to face this tough competition, Gil Motor Sport has surrounded itself with a technical team experienced then will equip his BMW M1000RR with Pirelli tires.

The winter tests were not easy, disrupted by unpredictable weather and then some missing racing parts due to stock shortages at some of our suppliers. Despite this, the whole team is satisfied since during the official pre-season tests at the Jerez circuit on March 16 and 17, the Gil Motor Sport rider achieved the 4th best times.

The team is therefore calm and will be ready for the first round which will take place this coming weekend at the Jerez circuit in Andalusia from April 4 to 7.
